What Keeps You Awake At Night?

Every day and night I find myself looking at a clock and not caring about the time. To me a nap of 2-3 hours is all I need to re-gain the energy I need to be productive on a daily basis. Call me crazy, but I am starting to believe that coffee has pretty much fused with my bloodstream over the years (and I am completely fine with this)!

Sleeping just seems like a waste of time to me — especially when I have no signs of fatigue or sleepiness. There are a few main factors that keep me awake on a daily/nightly basis that end up breaking down to sub-category factors. Thus this gives me all the stimuli I need to not fall asleep before 2am or for more than 3 hours.

Work for the next day

Being the workaholic that I am and lucky enough to do what I love on a daily basis, I find myself pre-planning the blueprint for my work schedule with the time I could use for sleep. I keep a digital schedule on my iPad just for insurance purposes and not forgetting. However, in my mind I like to plan out the entire work day and pretty much motivate myself.

In most cases, I can do the work in my head and once the sunrises physically (aka write, shoot photos, test recipes) complete the tasks without even thinking. This type of working mentality came from my years working on the line in restaurants and I absolutely love it!

My goals for the day/week/month/year + watching videos

Imagine how excited you are getting your favorite food, or clothes from your favorite designer, or even seeing a great friend for the first time in a while. Multiply that by 10 and that is how excited I am with my goals.

There is so much that I have not been able to accomplish (mostly surrounding traveling excursions) that dreaming will not suffice. I watch Vimeo videos as much as possible on the places that I want to visit just so I can get a feel for the environments and cultures before I make it there. Italy, Germany, France, Singapore, Korea (which I will definitely cover this week), and Japan are all on my list! I also watch a ton of YouTube videos from my favorite YouTubers or at random.

My Nintendo 3DS

If I am not doing any work, there is a 99.9% chance I am playing my Nintendo 3DS. The games that I am playing now and days are Pokémon Moon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf (with two towns/cartridges), and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I need to buy Ocarina of Time [Zelda] and A Link Between Worlds (also Zelda) pretty soon.

Well that ends my short list of what keeps me up at night. If you find yourself in this predicament like me, what keeps you awake at night?
