5th Annual The New York Game Awards

My favorite place in the entire country (New York) will be hosting an amazing gaming event that I need to plan for next year. The New York Videogame Critics Circle will be hosting their 5th annual “The New York Game Awards” on February 9th. I really wish I could go this year (why didn’t anyone ever tell me about this)?

This would have been a perfect excuse for me to visit and actually back it up without shame. No worries though, I’ll be going to a very special place during next week that I am excited about.

For those who have a more open schedule than I do, here some things you can look forward to.

  • Wyclef Jean will be releasing brand new music that he helped compose for the game “Lost in Harmony” during the awards event.
  • High school nerdy kids will have the opportunity to win a scholarship by participating in story contest.

  • For the first time ever, there will be an Annual Games Journalism Award this year. (I am definitely building up my gaming journalism portfolio throughout this year to possibly have a shot at a nomination. Mark my words… I will be there next year and hopefully winning this award!)

There are an extremely limited amount of tickets available. Tickets will not be available at the door, so if you want to purchase some for $21.49, click here for more information as soon as possible! Purchasing the tickets is more of a donation to the organization so they can continue doing this every year.

(Honestly, from what I have seen so far it is well worth spending the $22. That’s basically no Starbucks for 2 days… I can live with that, but no more than 2 days consecutively!)

The event venue where everything will take place is the Villain in Brooklyn. If you would like to stay updated on everything, visit the NYVGCC website here. To view last year's award show... look below (yeah right there), grab some of your favorite snacks, and press play!
